E Safety & Digital Citezenship

Picture
Schools can receive recognition for their commitment to developing e-safety, as evidenced by their use of the 360 degree safe self review tool. To receive the e-Safety Certificate of Progress, the school will need to have completed at least two of the four elements of 360 degree safe. The Certificate of Progress does not suggest that a school is “e-safe”. It simply states that the school has, itself, reported that it has reached at least a basic level of e-Safety policy and practice.

Year 7

All pupils will complete an e safety key assessment in the first term. They will learn about online dangers and prevention. They will also learn how to report problems.

Year 8

All pupils will follow a digital citizenship scheme of work in their PSE lessons to reinforce important e safety issues.

Year 9 & KS4

All pupils will complete the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification and will learn about how to research online in a safe and secure way. They will also learn about reliability of sources used.
